At the end of my first year of study I had to complete 35 hours of volunteer work within education, through CSU I joined Future Moves.
The nature of my volunteering with Future Moves was a student leader. The goal of Future Moved is to reach out to students from years 1 to 12 and and try to show them that education is important and that life is a continuous classroom and that we are always learning. My job as a student leader is to run workshops relevant to the year group that I am working with. I have run workshops on year 10 subject selection, study tips, misconceptions of university, career pathways and university open days.
Future Moves is based at CSU at the Bathurst Campus and Orange Campus. Because we are an outreach program I have travelled to many schools that include;
The community expectations for this organisation is to approach each school in a professional nature and treat every student with the same level of respect and courtesy. Because we travel to many different schools we adjust our approach to accomodate to their community expectations. Future Moves has a uniform of a bright orange polo and they have no motto as of yet.
